The Bridge Manager is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by overseeing and coordinating all aspects of bridge construction, ensuring project is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. Job Description This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

Requirements

  • Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
  • Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change.

  • Ability to maintain a current and valid driver’s license.
  • At a minimum, the Bridge Manager must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field along with 5+ years of experience in bridge construction or civil engineering projects or a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 9+ years of experience in bridge construction or civil engineering projects.
  • The Bridge Manager must also have at least 3+ years experience in a leadership role within civil construction and a current and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules to meet deadlines and resolve any delays or issues that arise.
  • Create and manage budgets, ensuring projects are completed within the financial scope.
  • Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and handle procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Approve invoices and ensure financial transactions are in compliance with the project budget.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, budget expenditures, safety incidents, and quality inspections.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation for regulatory approvals and inspections.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Create and manage budgets, ensuring projects are completed within the financial scope.
  • Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and handle procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Approve invoices and ensure financial transactions are in compliance with the project budget.
  • Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, top-tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts.
  • Supervises team, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, reviewing performance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations.
  • Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
