About The Position

Velociti Services is seeking a Bridge Maintenance Technician to support routine maintenance and inspection of movable bridge systems in Fort Lauderdale, FL. 6-8 hours a week. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, inspections, and mechanical upkeep to ensure safe and reliable bridge operations.

Requirements

  • Experience in bridge maintenance, roadway maintenance, or mechanical/industrial maintenance preferred.
  • Familiarity with movable bridge systems or heavy mechanical equipment a plus.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, work outdoors, and climb ladders or structures.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling and emergency response.
  • Strong safety awareness and reliability.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • High School diploma/GED
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications)
  • Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)

  • Applicants for this role must be able to: Meet and comply with the weight limitation safety rating and recommendations for any equipment associated with performing their duties, including the 300 lb. safety rating for ladders (both portable and affixed) and fall arrest equipment
  • Medium work, depending on location, can lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stoop / bend / kneel / crouch / balance / climb on an occasional basis
  • Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity / tracking / inspection

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on movable bridge components.
  • Conduct visual and hands-on inspections of bridge structures and mechanical systems.
  • Perform cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and minor mechanical repairs.
  • Assist with maintenance of gears, bearings, locks, brakes, and structural elements.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance call-outs as required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection documentation.
  • Follow all safety procedures, traffic control requirements, and regulatory standards.
