HDR currently has an opening for a Bridge Inspection Intern for Summer 2026 with the technical skills and desire to help support our bridge inspection team in South Carolina. The internship offers real-world experience on exciting projects and the opportunity to perform assignments under the direct supervision of a Team Leader. This role is open for an SC Office. This role will include field work, sometimes remote and overnight travel.
In the role of Bridge Inspection Intern, we'll count on you to:

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
• Attention to detail
• Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Nice To Haves

• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Attention to detail a must
• Must possess strong or problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office Skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
• Local candidates preferred

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world experience on exciting projects
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a Bridge Inspection Team Leader
• Perform other duties as needed
