WSP is currently initiating a search for a Bridge Inspection Assistant Team Leader for our New York, NY or Valhalla, NY office. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in design, construction, inspection, or other bridge engineering related work.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Physically capable of performing continuous field work including working at heights and in close quarters, climbing, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver license. Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Essential Professional Licensure/Certification.
  • 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review previous inspection reports and assist in planning of field operations
  • Perform inspection work and compile reports under the direction of the Team Leader.
  • Receive directions from Project Manager and other senior staff
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, local and privately funded improvement and development projects.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
