About The Position

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is expanding our Bridge/Structural practice in Ohio and seeking a motivated Bridge Engineering Project Manager to lead impactful bridge and structural projects throughout the region. This role is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who enjoys hands-on design but is ready to step into broader project leadership, client engagement, and strategic growth responsibilities. As a Bridge/Structural Engineer with CEC, you will take ownership of bridge design and plan development, lead multidisciplinary coordination efforts, and provide technical guidance on a wide range of structure types (including roadway, railroad, and pedestrian structures). You will also have opportunities to contribute to bridge inspections, load ratings, and community-focused transportation projects. With 32 offices and over 1,500 employee-owners, you’ll collaborate alongside talented engineers, engaged mentors, and supportive leaders who are committed to your long-term success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Ohio Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience delivering bridge design projects, including design-bid-build and design-build.
  • Proven experience developing proposals and building strong client relationships.
  • ODOT and/or OTIC design experience required.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads, Civil 3D, and industry-standard bridge design software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in marketing, business development, project pursuits, and proposal preparation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design, plan development, and project delivery, ensuring a seamless and positive client experience.
  • Support and contribute to CEC’s strategy for growing our bridge and transportation practice across the Ohio market.
  • Collaborate on pursuits, proposals, scopes, budgets, and schedules for public-sector transportation clients.
  • Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including roadway, geotechnical, survey, and permitting professionals.
  • Provide technical leadership through quality assurance, design oversight, and review of bridge calculations, reports, and plan sets.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a trusted technical resource.
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, with opportunities to participate in outreach and training initiatives.
