About The Position

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Bridge Engineering Intern to join their transportation structures group in the Atlanta - Midtown office. This position will focus primarily on assisting with the design of Georgia based transportation projects. Projects are delivered using procedures typical to the Georgia Department of Transportation and local Georgia governments and municipalities.

Requirements

• Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Must have completed at least 1 year of study.
• Candidates who have graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions.
• Graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

• PSC beam design
• Substructure design
• Geometry calculations
• Bridge Jacking design
• Quantity calculations
• Other related design tasks
• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
