About The Position

The Bridge Engineer in Training (EIT) position at HDR involves applying structural engineering techniques to develop bridge designs for various projects, including highway and railway systems. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
• Proficiency in MS Office, MathCAD, and AutoCAD.
• Experience with LARSA and Prestress Concrete Design.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
• Knowledge of Bentley OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3D.
• Strong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and design.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Experience in bridge/structural design.

Responsibilities

• Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs.
• Work on projects that include bridge design, box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
• Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures and develop structural details using specialized software.
• Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Participate in bridge inspections and perform other duties as needed.
