About The Position

We are seeking a Bridge Designer to join TYLin's Bridge Sector. In this role you will be asked to perform calculations, analysis and designs of bridges within the area. Within a team atmosphere we plan to foster your knowledge and get you prepared and well-placed to learn and grow!

Requirements

  • Requires a Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Engineer-In-Training Certification required. Eligibility and willingness to pass PE test within 1 year required.
  • At least 1 years' structural design experience - emphasis on bridge structures preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in structural analysis and design of various types of bridge structures.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients' toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in recognized parametric design/scripting software such as Rhino, Grasshopper, and/or Dynamo preferred.
  • Experience in commercial analysis software such as CSI Bridge, Larsa 4D, and/or Sofistik preferred.
  • Experience in relational databases such as SQL or MS Access preferred.
  • Experience in data visualization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis for the design of reinforced/prestressed concrete and steel bridge structures.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable design codes.
  • Develop scalable digital solutions for use on projects.
  • Develop production work plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct independent quality control.
  • Ability to plan and schedule engineering work.
  • Ability to respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), Field Design Changes (FDCs), Contract Change Orders (CCOs), etc.
  • Other assignments as needed.
