About The Position

PRIME AE Group, Inc. is seeking a Bridge Designer I/II to join our Transportation Business Line in our Baltimore office. The primary focus of this role will be to apply structural engineering and detailing techniques on projects that typically include bridge design (steel plate girder/rolled beam, prestressed concrete, and post-tensioned components) for highway and railway projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Engineering Intern or Engineer-In-Training Certificate.
• Finite Element Methods (FEM) analysis experience is desired.
• Ability to use MicroStation CAD.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with standard bridge engineering/design procedures.
• Develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software.
• Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Perform design calculations, estimates, specifications, and quantity take offs.
• Develop plan and details/layouts using CAD.
• Write technical reports.
• Perform design and analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation design for transportation projects.
• Participate in bridge condition inspections, inspections of other transportation related structures, and inspection report preparation.
• Perform bridge load ratings.
• Perform construction engineering demo/erections calculations, temporary shoring, and falsework.
• Review shop drawings.
• Perform other duties as needed.
