We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Bridge Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Georgia. Parsons Peachtree Corners, GA office is now hiring a Mid-Level Bridge Design Engineer with a desire to work on bridge projects for roadway and interstate systems in the State of Georgia and the surrounding region. This is an exciting opportunity to work on various bridge engineering and design projects, ranging from mid to large design and design-build projects. These projects may include suspension, cable-stayed, arch, truss, cantilever, beam girder bridges - both steel and concrete. Parsons' recent project wins, including the SR 400 Express Lanes and the stay cable replacement on the Talmadge Memorial Bridge raising in Savannah, GA, highlight our expertise and leadership in the field of complex bridge design. Your engineering knowledge, combined with our extensive experience and backlog of exciting and complex bridge design projects, will propel your career forward with opportunities for advancement based on top performance. In this role, you will work under the supervision of senior engineers, performing design and plan development tasks, as well as structural analysis and design on Georgia DOT and other state DOT projects. Additionally, you will produce data sheets, quantity estimates, and material requisitions; review shop drawing submittals; and perform technical bid analysis. You will also provide support in design, marketing, and technical proposals. Keys to your success will be your structural engineering expertise in bridge design.

  • Assure that the bridges are designed in accordance with approved Federal, State, and local agency requirements as well as AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, practices, and procedures.
  • Deliverables may include structural designs for single span, multiple spans, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, precast concrete, and steel bridges.
  • Provide structural specifications, estimating, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses.
  • Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
  • Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years or more of design, design-build or alternative project delivery experience on bridge highway infrastructure.
  • Steel and concrete bridge design experience is essential
  • Experience with bridge design for roadway systems is essential
