As the Bridge Bay Marina Assistant Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day functions that keep the park running smoothly. Job Summary: These roles involves overseeing the safe and efficient operations of a marina, including dock slip rentals, boat charters, and fuel sales, while ensuring profitability. Responsibilities also include staff management, training in seamanship and boat operations, maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, coordinating boat repairs, budget administration, payroll maintenance, and ensuring environmentally conscious practices. Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of Xanterra's policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of seamanship, boats, marine band radios, and marina operations.
  • Must have ability to tie proper Bowline and Cleat Hitch (Halyard) knots.
  • Knowledge of guide functions.
  • Knowledge of emergency and lifesaving procedures.
  • Training provided for current CPR and 1st Aid Certifications.
  • Knowledge of Yellowstone facilities and services.
  • Knowledge of NPS Boating and Fishing Regulations.
  • Must have a working familiarity with 46 CFR Parts 24-28 and 46 CFR Chapter 1, Parts 175 through 187.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with no high-risk violations in the past 3 years.
  • Must be capable of lifting objects of up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of bending, lifting, and standing throughout a 10 + hour shift.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, etc.) for extended periods of time and provide proper attire for such weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work at elevations in excess of 7700 feet.
  • Must pass DOT Physical.
  • Must pass DOT pre-employment and random drug screens.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe, profitable, and efficient operation of all phases of the marina including, dock slip rentals, guide boat charters, outboard rentals, fuel and boat supply sales, scenic cruise operations and backcountry drop-off service.
  • Assists the Marina Manager with the Staff selection and development, scheduling, and corrective action in compliance with Company policy.
  • Assists the Marina Manger to establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, NPS, and management.
  • Assists the Marina Manager with all aspects of employee training including seamanship and boat operations.
  • Assists the Marina Manager with coordination of boat repairs with mechanic staff and Manager of Transportation Maintenance.
  • Assists the Marina Manager with maintenance of payroll records.
  • Assists the Marina Manager with administration of financial budget.
  • Assists the Marina Manager with oversight of practical and written examinations for all boat operators.
  • Assists the Marina Manager with administration of the Bridge Bay Marina operations in an environmentally conscious manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Marina Manager, Lake Hotel Location Manager and Director of Support Services and Activities.
