About The Position

The position involves various responsibilities centered around maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest interaction in a kitchen environment. The role emphasizes the importance of teamwork, positive attitude, and adherence to service standards. Cooks are expected to prepare menu items according to recipes, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and operate kitchen equipment effectively. The position is structured into three levels, each with increasing responsibilities and skill requirements.

Requirements

  • One year of kitchen experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices (FIFO and labeling).
  • Basic understanding of ordering, inventory, and cost control.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to withstand extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to work safely in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Math and reading skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in food safety.
  • Experience in a high-volume kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operating principles are adhered to: Clean, Safe, Friendly, Fun.
  • Display 'Family Style Service' to enhance guest experience.
  • Assist in creating a strong team environment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate hospitality.
  • Cook all menu items and present plates according to recipes.
  • Maintain menu items on the kitchen line according to training.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen and all kitchen equipment.
  • Use kitchen equipment associated with certification level.
  • Understand mise en place and product rotation using FIFO method.
  • Prepare vegetables and assemble salads, pizzas, and desserts.
  • Understand food safety and storage temperatures.
  • Expedite orders and perform quality checks on each plate.
  • Coordinate orders from all cook levels to meet ticket time expectations.
  • Assist with menu specials development and waste reports.
  • Communicate effectively with FOH and guests.
