About The Position

The Breeder/Hatchery Manager is responsible for the efficient and economical production of quality chicks to meet corporate needs, while also maintaining the facilities and property. This role involves supervising the Breeder Department, fostering relationships with Breeder Growers, and ensuring maximum production of high-quality hatching eggs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in agricultural or business-related field.
• 1-3 years of related experience.
• Ability to lead and coach others.
• Valid class D license with a good driving record.
• Strong communication skills.
• High energy and achievement orientation.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with other managers to improve overall performance.
• Develop personnel through training and personal instruction, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Maintain company policies and processes for safety, quality, and team member satisfaction.
• Develop and implement goals and budgets for hatchery and breeder departments.
• Communicate regularly with the Live Operations Manager to address questions and develop new ideas.
• Direct day-to-day breeder operations to ensure adequate quantity and quality of hatch eggs.
• Implement and monitor pullet and breeder production programs, ensuring proper training and development.
• Provide communication and direction for contract pullet and breeder producers.
• Monitor the health of pullet and breeder flocks and adherence to bio-security and animal welfare programs.
• Supervise breeder operations for optimal performance and quick problem resolution.
