About The Position
The Marion County Public Health Department is seeking a dedicated individual to provide basic breastfeeding information, encouragement, and support to Women, Infant and Children Program (WIC) pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. This role involves attending training classes to become a peer counselor and continuing education through conferences and workshops. The position requires counseling WIC participants through various communication methods and teaching breastfeeding classes. The individual will also provide leadership in support groups and maintain accurate records of all contacts made with WIC participants.
