About The Position

The Diagnostic and Breast Ultrasound Technologist at AdventHealth Outpatient Imaging is responsible for performing General Sonographic procedures under general supervision, adhering to department protocols. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships. The technologist will ensure compliance with the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Ultrasound Program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • ARDMS, ARRT and/or CCI credentials including Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Abdomen (AB) and Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN).
  • One of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)- Breast OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologies RT(BS) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologies RT(S).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)- Vascular (RVT) OR Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologies RT(VS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform General Sonographic procedures in accordance with department protocols.
  • Actively participate in outstanding customer service.
  • Maintain relationships that are respectful to all.
  • Adhere to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable regulations.
  • Obtain high-quality scans based on patient body habitus and NPO prep status.
  • Follow proper exam protocols as outlined in the department Policy and Procedure manual.
  • Utilize two patient identifiers to confirm patient/exam accuracy before administering exams.
  • Review all images on Ultrasound machine or IMPAX (PACS) and fill out Ultrasound worksheet in a timely manner.
  • Rescan patients as requested by Radiologist.
  • Complete exams in a timely manner and evaluate patient prep status.
  • Utilize computer systems to update exam status and ensure charges match procedures completed.
  • Operate and maintain Ultrasound equipment safely and adhere to infection control standards.
  • Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and operate all ultrasound equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-specific factors necessary for safe and effective procedures.
