About The Position

Boston Medical Center – South seeks a skilled and compassionate Breast Surgeon to join our growing multidisciplinary breast health program. The ideal candidate will be board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery with fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology or equivalent clinical experience. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree (or equivalent).
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited General Surgery residency.
  • Fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology or equivalent experience.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
  • Eligible for or holding an unrestricted medical license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, compassionate, and equitable patient care.
  • Advanced clinical and surgical expertise in breast disease management.
  • Excellent communication and patient-education skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with benign and malignant breast disease, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary breast conferences and tumor boards with radiology, pathology, oncology, and plastic surgery colleagues.
  • Collaborate with medical and radiation oncologists to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Perform minimally invasive and oncoplastic breast surgery techniques consistent with current best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement, outcomes tracking, and clinical research initiatives within the Breast Health Program.
  • Educate and mentor residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
  • Work closely with nurse navigators, genetic counselors, and social workers to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Engage in community outreach and education programs focused on breast cancer awareness and screening.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Adhere to hospital policies, compliance, and regulatory standards.
