About The Position

Presbyterian Cancer Care is seeking a dedicated Breast Medical Oncologist to join our compassionate, patient-centered team in Rio Rancho. Practice Highlights: Focused Practice: Care exclusively for breast oncology patients in a supportive, multidisciplinary setting. Team-Based Support: Work alongside nurse navigators, social workers, dieticians, and chemo-certified infusion nurses. Work/Life Balance: Enjoy a 4-day work week and participate in the Breast Tumor Board every Wednesday morning. Manageable Call: Inpatient call just 7 weeks per year. Research Opportunities: Engage in clinical trials and research initiatives as a member of the New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance. Accredited Excellence: Our program is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Streamlined Systems: Systemwide Epic EMR for seamless care coordination.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. with fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology
  • BC/BE Medical Oncology and Hematology
  • NM Medical License
  • Demonstration of CARES behaviors and the practice of collaborative care

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years minimum experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • In alignment with NCCN guidelines, order and oversee diagnostic testing; prescribe treatment and supportive medications; collaborate with the care team to include palliative care, psychology, social work, PT, OT, Speech, dietician, nursing, research to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians, as required by provider licensure.
  • Participate in process improvement which drives standard of care across the continuum.
  • Participation in tumor board(s) is required.
