About The Position

The Breast Nurse Navigator/ Program Coordinator is a professional registered nurse with breast health knowledge who assumes responsibility and accountability for optimal clinical outcomes and coordination of care activities for patients receiving breast care services and undergoing diagnostic evaluation, testing, and treatment. This RN position: provides ongoing support for patient care across the continuum of care, and addresses all barriers to care. assists and educates patients through screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. participates in interdisciplinary tumor board meetings. facilitates NAPBC quarterly Breast Program Leadership Committee meetings. assists the Breast Team with standard requirements for NAPBC re-certification.. demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills. promotes team building and collaborative relationships. demonstrates strong self-direction and critical thinking skills. provides compassionate and quality care. Must be willing to be floated or reassigned to another department, unit, office, or location as needed.

Requirements

  • RN degree
  • Must possess a solid knowledge base of breast health and care
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to multi-task
  • Must be skillful in problem solving and being proactive in anticipating patient needs, taking appropriate course of action, and using approved guidelines
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for quality patient outcomes

Nice To Haves

  • BSN (Preferred)
  • Certification from accredited nurse navigation program required within 2 years of hire
