About the position

The Breast Medicine Advanced Practice Provider I/II at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with breast-related health issues. This role involves assessing physical symptoms, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. The provider will also educate and mentor other clinical staff, including Advanced Practice Provider I, nursing staff, residents, fellows, and healthcare interns throughout the patient's medical journey.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage acute and chronic phases of illness in patients.
  • Assess physical symptoms and develop treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medications as necessary.
  • Provide continued care throughout the patient's medical journey.
  • Educate and mentor Advanced Practice Provider I and other clinical staff.

Requirements

  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State or as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
  • Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification or certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA.
  • Master's or higher-level degree in Nursing or a Bachelor's or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Two years of full-time progressively responsible Advanced Practice Provider experience in a relevant service line.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of appointment.
