Maine Medical Partners is seeking a solid tumor oncologist with interest in breast cancer to join the faculty of its flagship cancer center in Portland, Maine. Highlights of this opportunity include being part of a statewide oncology care program, the MaineHealth Cancer Care Network (MHCCN), which is an integrated cancer care delivery network across the Southern, Coastal and Mountain regions of Maine and eastern New Hampshire. The network is comprised of 11 hospital partners and provides comprehensive cancer care to more than 7,400 cancer patients annually, including more than 600 cases at the Scarborough Breast Care Center. MHCCN is the dominant cancer care provider in the state of Maine with COC, NAPBC and NAPRC accredited comprehensive cancer care programs. The position offers a fully integrated surgical oncology, radiation oncology, palliative care, patient support/social worker, and nutritionist service. There is a robust research program through membership of the NCI's Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP), with opportunities to be PI or sub-PI of clinical trials as well as support for investigator-initiated sponsored research. The practice includes a total of 19 dedicated tumor board meetings for multiple cancer types in a month, leading edge analytics and metrics, and a faculty position with Tufts University School of Medicine. The Oncology/Hematology Practice at MaineHealth Cancer Care in South Portland is a hybrid academic-community based, fully subspecialized hematology-oncology practice of 11 physicians and 5 APPs, providing full infusion service and inpatient care at the Maine Medical Center.
