Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
  • RTBS (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, Breast) or RDMSBR (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) and MAMMRAD:AZ (Certified Mammography Rad Tech in AZ).
  • Completion of ARDMS or ARRT approved ultrasound training program or hospital-based ultrasound training program.
  • BLS-CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Cerner experience.
  • Associate degree or BS degree.
  • ARDMS BR - Breast Certified.
  • Completion of ARDMS or ARRT approved ultrasound program.

Responsibilities

  • Performs breast ultrasound procedures.
  • Assists with evaluations of equipment and procedures.
  • Acts as a liaison for ultrasound interdepartmental procedures.
  • Assumes the role of Lead as required.
  • Performs exams based on anatomy and patient habitus per exam protocol.
  • Demonstrates competency in performing procedures as reflected in the exam protocol.
  • Complies with performance of two patient identifiers and gel in/gel out.
  • Produces high quality imaging and provides legible, accurate, and complete documentation to physician.
  • Maintains the integrity of a sterile field.
  • Protects patients with open/seeping skin by providing a barrier between the ultrasound probe and the exposed wound.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in locating patient information in Empower, RCO, RADNET, Dominator as needed in the performance/dictation of exam.
