About The Position

The Atlanta VA Health Care System is seeking a Board-Certified Breast Imaging Specialist or a General Radiologist with MQSA Certification to join our dynamic Radiology Department. This position plays a key role in supporting women’s health and comprehensive diagnostic imaging services for our nation’s Veterans.

Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, physical examination, and background/security investigation.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Completion of all onboarding and employment verification processes.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Licensure: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Residency Training: Completion of an accredited residency in Diagnostic Radiology (ACGME, AOA, or equivalent as approved by the VA).
  • Board Certification: Board certified (or eligible) in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • English Language Proficiency: Proficient in spoken and written English.

Nice To Haves

  • Fellowship training in Breast Imaging strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience interpreting mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs.
  • Experience performing image-guided breast biopsies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, teaching, and Veteran-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Providing a full range of breast imaging and general radiology services.
  • Protocoling and interpreting breast imaging studies including screening and diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast MRIs.
  • Preparing and reviewing detailed imaging reports for referring physicians.
  • Performing breast procedures such as stereotactic-guided, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided biopsies, as well as Savi Scout localizations.
  • Collaborating with referring clinicians to discuss diagnostic findings and treatment options.
  • Ensuring optimal image quality by working closely with mammography, ultrasound, and MRI technologists.
  • Maintaining compliance with MQSA, ACR, and VA standards for quality and safety in breast imaging.
