About The Position

Breast Imaging Service Line Manager Direct responsibility for the operations (Project Management, Budget, Staffing, and Performance of Breast Imaging services. Functions as an expert in radiology services in the region related to breast imaging.

Requirements

  • CPR certification required.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a related field.
  • Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes Radiologic Technology or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse or Social Worker in the State of Georgia
  • Minimum of five years of professional mammography, or nursing, or breast navigation or social work experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
  • Frequently required to stretch, bend, twist, squat and kneel while assisting with procedures in any of the diagnostic areas.
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing and gripping may be required for moving patients, equipment and supplies.
  • Vision and hearing for distances of at least 20 feet is essential.
  • Manual dexterity is required for operating diagnostic equipment and personal computers.
  • Majority of time spent sitting and performing administrative procedures with the use of computers or office equipment. Walking or standing while monitoring department activities, assisting in patient care and attending hospital functions is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning new breast imaging services and facilities, equipment, and personnel needs.
  • Maintains a clear community presence with emphasis on the Breast Imaging and Care population
  • Collaborates in administering and establishing new department policies and procedures within breast imaging.
  • Addresses team member, patient, and physician complaints.
  • Ensures compliance with licensing and regulatory standards (Federal, State, and ACR) in Mammography includes assurance of accurate audit of required statistics. Manage and help implement appropriate data collection of information needed to monitor clinical, operational, and financial outcomes, as well as MQSA QA/QC standards.
  • Follows up on error correction and establishes corrective action to address identified problems within 24 hours.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual capital equipment and operation budget. Continually monitors and maintains the monthly budgeted figures. Completes detailed monthly variance reports with adequate explanation.
  • Recommends and justifies all new changes (provides detailed cost analysis), and changes to all existing charge structures.
  • Collects, generates, analyzes, and distributes statistical data and reports as requested or required.
  • Evaluates and counsels team members relative to their job performance, conduct, and adherence to department and hospital policy
  • Attends, conducts, and coordinates various breast imaging section meetings with team members and managers.
  • Recommends hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination of team members. Also, demonstrates competency in interview techniques and appropriate selection of team members.
  • Responsible for the coordination of monthly breast cancer support group and any other breast survivor, mobile mammography and community programs
  • Assures that high quality standards are maintained by regular review and monitoring of results.
