About The Position

Here at Fairview, we are now seeking a Breast Imaging and Interventional Technologist to join our imaging team at our University of Minnesota Health Clinic and Surgery Center in Minneapolis, MN! This is a .8 FTE (64 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:15AM - 4:45PM. No weekends! The Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all of the members of the health care team.

Requirements

  • A.R.R.T. (R)
  • A.R.R.T. (M) within 1 Year
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year in mammography

Responsibilities

  • Maintains patient care
  • Performs examinations
  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately.
  • Verify patient identification and documentation
  • Communicate with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
  • Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
  • Ensures patient data integrity
  • Accurate film identification and jacket preparation or digital image manipulation and archiving
  • Orients and mentors new employees and students
  • Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
  • Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines
  • Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelines
  • Accepts new technology as it is introduced into the facility
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served.
  • Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.
  • Provides patient education based on an assessment of learning needs of patient/care-giver
