About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring customers of imaging services are greeted and assisted in a timely manner and is responsible for providing support services for the Breast Care Center. The incumbent will perform a variety of clerical duties including: arriving patients for their imaging exams, managing patient flow through the department, answering telephones, and other clerical duties ensuring that all needed information is available for radiologists/technologists.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in an office setting or customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Experience working as part of a team including verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in problem solving and conflict resolution.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Terminology (preferred)
  • Coding experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Greets incoming patients in a professional manner to assess patient needs and ensures needs are met and customer service expectations exceeded.
  • Efficiently updates and verifies patient demographics, insurance, and contact information, and assists customers in completing necessary forms to meet regulatory and billing needs prior to receiving clinical care.
  • Scans necessary paperwork and educates patient on financial assistance.
  • Thoughtfully directs patients on next steps and informs patients about delays and wait times.
  • Supports administrative function of the clinic in working reports, uploading/sharing images per HIPPA guidelines, ensuring imaging studies are read in a timely manner, communicating with physician offices regarding orders, addressing patient concerns, and performing paperwork.
  • Willingly coordinates with other care teams and other employees to provide a seamless experience for patients.
  • Answers telephone inquiries and directs patients/families to appropriate resource.
  • Effectively uses electronic resources support the Breast Care Center.
  • Maintains an accurate file system.
  • Creates, retrieves, and updates files where appropriate.
  • Coordinates the needs of technologists, radiologists, physicians, patients, and staff.
