About The Position

As a Part Time Breakfast Server at Swissôtel Chicago, you will have the perfect opportunity to touch the hearts of our guests by treating each person individually and making their food & beverage experience unforgettable. Your warm, personal attention and knowledge of our outstanding offerings makes guests feel unique and valued. Responsibilities include completing daily operations such as opening duties, stocking, polishing, cleaning, and maintaining walk-ins, fridges, and other areas as assigned by the F&B Manager on duty. You will meet and greet guests, coordinate with the F&B Team regarding preferences, allergies, and special occasions, and maintain quality and timeliness of service while practicing effective upselling and suggestive selling techniques to drive outlet revenue. Additionally, you will assist guests regarding menu items, serve group functions per individual client specifications, and follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.

Requirements

  • 1 year restaurant experience preferred; serving experience an asset
  • Creative and passionate about customer service
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Must be able to work any shift assigned, such as holidays, weekends, mornings, and potentially afternoons and evenings if needed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in Food and Beverage

Responsibilities

  • Complete Daily Operations (i.e. opening duties, stocking, polishing, cleaning and maintaining walk-ins, fridges and other areas as assigned by the F&B Manager on duty)
  • Meet and greet guests and coordinate with F&B Team regarding preferences, allergies and special occasions
  • Have full knowledge of all food and beverage menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
  • Maintain quality and timeliness of service and practice effective up selling and suggestive selling techniques to drive outlet revenue
  • Maintain accurate billing, cash handling and float procedures
  • Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
  • Serving group functions per individual client specifications
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Follow all Hotel Service Standards
  • Any other job tasks that may be assigned
