About The Position

The historic Hotel Cleveland is seeking a service minded breakfast Host/Hostess to join our team. This person will meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu. This Marriott Autograph Collection property opened in 1918, has 491 newly renovated rooms and 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Requirements

• Must have the ability to communicate in English
• Ability to comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials
• Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
• Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

• Prior Host/Hostess experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet guests as they arrive
• Maintain proper seating rotations for servers within their sections
• Utilize Open Table reservations system
• Escort guests to their table and present menu
• Maintain and assist in to coordinating communication between shifts and management for reservations and guest special requests
• Provide to-go coffee service and take to-go orders as necessary
• Answer host telephone promptly
• Assist in taking in-room-dining orders over the phone, and coordinate with food runners for delivering room service
• Maintain proper set-up of dining room
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned
