The Breakfast Cook is responsible for prepping a variety of ingredients and assembling dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications. This position provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service while preparing various breakfast foods for the Hy-Vee Market Grille.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent experience.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Prepares the cooking surfaces and various breakfast foods.
• Places food in hot cases, monitors amounts, and refills as necessary.
• Prepares items for the upcoming shifts.
• Ensures personal understanding of all aspects of the kitchen.
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Orders product and supplies when necessary or notifies department head of needs.
• Assists in other areas of store as needed.
