About The Position

The Breakfast Cook at Hy-Vee Market Grille is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while preparing various breakfast foods. This role includes managing both hot and cold food items, ensuring that all dishes are prepared according to restaurant recipes and specifications. The Breakfast Cook is expected to maintain a clean and organized work area, adhere to sanitation procedures, and engage positively with customers to enhance their shopping experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
  • Prepares vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast foods.
  • Places food in hot cases, monitors amounts, and refills as necessary.
  • Prepares items for upcoming shifts.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service.
  • Works as a team with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Orders products and supplies when necessary.
  • Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
