About The Position

The Breakfast Cook is responsible for preparing various breakfast foods for the Hy-Vee Market Grille and is responsible for all hot foods and cold foods including available heat-and-eat varieties. This position provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school or equivalent experience.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to do simple addition and subtraction, and record figures.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Prepares the cooking surfaces and various breakfast foods.
• Places food in hot cases, monitors amounts, and refills as necessary.
• Prepares items for the upcoming shifts.
• Ensures personal understanding of all aspects of the kitchen and practices proper sanitation procedures.
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Orders product and supplies when necessary or notifies department head of needs.
• Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
