About The Position

The Breakfast Cook at Hy-Vee Market Grille is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while preparing various breakfast foods. This role includes managing both hot and cold food items, prepping ingredients, and assembling dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications. The Breakfast Cook plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction and record figures.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn their names.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and enhancing their shopping experience.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service to callers.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Prepares cooking surfaces and various breakfast foods.
• Monitors food amounts in hot cases and refills as necessary.
• Prepares items for upcoming shifts and ensures understanding of all kitchen aspects.
• Practices proper sanitation procedures and maintains a clean work area.
• Adheres to company policies and guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
• Reports to work on time and is knowledgeable of all menu items.
