About The Position

The Breakfast Cook at Hy-Vee Market Grille is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while preparing various breakfast foods. This role includes managing both hot and cold food items, ensuring proper preparation and assembly according to restaurant recipes and specifications. The Breakfast Cook is expected to maintain a clean and organized work area, adhere to sanitation procedures, and engage positively with customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
  • Prepares vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast foods.
  • Places food in hot cases, monitors amounts, and refills as necessary.
  • Prepares items for upcoming shifts.
  • Ensures personal understanding of all aspects of the kitchen.
  • Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
  • Knowledgeable of all menu items and able to take guest orders.
  • Assists customers in various ways to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage ranging from $14.00 to $17.50 depending on experience.
