About The Position

The Breakfast Cook at Hy-Vee Market Grille is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while preparing various breakfast foods. This role includes managing both hot and cold food items, including heat-and-eat varieties, and requires the assembly of dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications. The Breakfast Cook must ensure a clean and sanitary work environment and adhere to company policies and guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service.
  • Prepares vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast foods.
  • Places food in hot cases, monitors amounts, and refills as necessary.
  • Prepares items for upcoming shifts.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the work area.
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service.
  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Orders product and supplies when necessary.
  • Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
