About The Position

The Timber at Holly Branch, an affiliate of Ayres Lodging Collective, is a boutique hotel in Gatlinburg, TN. The Breakfast Attendant will be responsible for setting up/maintaining the breakfast buffet, beverage station, and dining areas in a consistent and timely manner. This is a part-time role perfect for someone who loves early mornings, has a passion for food and hospitality, and enjoys creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests!

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
  • 1-2 years previous experience working in a kitchen setting (required).
  • Must be at least 18 years old (required).
  • Current valid ABC license, or willing to obtain within 60 days of employment (required).
  • Current valid ServSafe certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment (required).
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language fluently to interact with guests, the public and other team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Interpersonal skills to provide overall customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and early morning shift.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, climb stairs, twist, kneel, climb, lift, push, and pull items weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and continuously move throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare breakfast dining area and tables for service with special attention to sanitation and order.
  • Set up and maintain breakfast buffet according to pre-determined schematic and by the forecasted number of guests anticipated.
  • Set up, takedown, and maintain the beverage station and continental breakfast area.
  • Ensure tables and dining area are always clean and tidy.
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests and serve food efficiently.
  • Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.
  • Support guest needs around the property to the best of your ability, stepping in to assist with any duties that enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of hot breakfast items.
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Prepare simple lunch items such as sandwiches, soups, and salads.
  • Follow opening and closing procedures accurately.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to management.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper handwashing, food storage, and equipment cleaning.
  • Perform daily cleaning of kitchen equipment, prep areas, and utensils after service.
  • Support additional kitchen or food service tasks as needed.
