Per policy, current employees are not eligible. Employee Referral Eligible position. Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital, a member of Commonspirit Health. Mercy San Juan’s Family Birth Center is the Level 3 High Risk Facility within the greater Sacramento Dignity Hospitals. Our Family Birth Center has 28 beds consisting of 12 labor beds, 2 Operating Rooms, a 2 patient PACU, 2 triage bays, and a 14 bed private Mother-Baby unit. We are Joint Commission Certified for Perinatal Care and we follow the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding. As a high risk facility, we receive Antepartum patient transfers from all over Northern California that can remain with us for extended periods of time until they can safely deliver. We have our Level III NICU adjoining our Family Birth Center that supports our patients and our care team. We average 150 deliveries a month supported by Nurse Shift Managers, a Perinatal Safety Specialist and a Perinatal Certified Nurse Specialist. At Mercy San Juan Medical Center we have an in-house OB hospitalist and a designated OB anesthesiologist to support our patients and staff. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery and Postpartum RN experience
  • Fetal monitoring experience required
  • Current CA RN licensure and AHA BLS and ACLS
  • Current NRP certificate
  • NCC fetal monitoring certificate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course completion within 12 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Cesarean Section experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.
  • Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating.
  • Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit.
  • Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.
  • Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership.
  • Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments.
