About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Break/Fix Technician to join our client's IT field support team near Utica, NY. In this role, you will provide hands-on technical support for desktops and laptops, including repair, imaging, replacement, and on-site service for end users across New York State. The position requires timely response to dispatch calls, travel within the region, and adherence to established service-level requirements. Responsibilities of the Break/Fix Technician will include: Perform Level 2 hardware repair, troubleshooting, and imaging for state-issued devices. Respond promptly to customer dispatches and service requests within assigned coverage areas. Travel to client locations to perform installation, maintenance, and break/fix services. Ensure accurate inventory management and asset tracking during repair and delivery processes. Maintain flexibility to meet service scheduling needs. Complete and submit work orders, timesheets, and expense reports as required. Serve as a point of contact between the technical team and end users. Operate and maintain a company vehicle and manage equipment stock.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer Science (preferred) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in field services support.
  • Minimum 2 years working with PC hardware, peripherals, structured cabling, operating systems, and common software applications.
  • Must hold current hardware certifications for warranty repairs on HP and Dell equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly within the region.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
