About The Position

McGehee is offering a Spring Break camp open to students in PreK to 7th grade in the broader New Orleans community from April 6th - April 10th. Assistant Counselors are expected to work an eight hour shift between 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM. We are currently recruiting Assistant Counselors available to work all five days of camp. As an Assistant Counselor, you’ll support your Lead Counselor while working closely with a small group of campers throughout the day. You’ll help create a joyful, welcoming environment as campers engage in hands-on activities like art projects, outdoor games, team challenges, and imaginative play designed to match their age and interests. You’ll work with campers in groups of approximately eleven to fifteen, from PK through 7th grade, helping with activity setup, transitions, and daily routines. Activities are structured yet flexible, and your role is essential in encouraging participation, collaboration, and confidence in a supportive, inclusive setting.
