About The Position

Zero Zone is a manufacturer of reach-in and open refrigerated and frozen food display cases as well as the refrigeration systems that work behind the scenes to cool the cases, keeping the food fresh! We also make powerful industrial refrigeration systems for food warehousing, pharmaceuticals, and even ice rinks! Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Brazing Technician is responsible for performing high-quality brazing on refrigeration components according to engineering specifications and industry standards.

Requirements

Prior experience in brazing, soldering, or HVAC/R assembly.
Previous experience working in refrigeration, HVAC manufacturing, or industrial assembly environments.
Strong understanding of coper tubing, refrigerant lines, and component preparation.
Ability to work from technical drawings and follow detailed instructions.
Basical mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work from technical drawings and follow detailed instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with different departments.
Familiarity with pressure testing and leak detection methods.
Maintain a positive work attitude.

Safety toe shoes and safety glasses are required while in production areas.
Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the office and production areas; have use of hands and fingers to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

NATE or AWS (B2.2) certifications are preferred

Responsibilities

Perform brazing and soldering on refrigeration tubing, fittings, and assemblies.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, and work instructions.
Assemble, prepare, and pressure-test refrigeration components to ensure leak-free performance.
Inspect brazed joints for quality, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
Use torches, gauges, pressure testing equipment, and hand tools safely and effectively.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all safety protocols including PPE, equipment handling, and fire prevention.
Other duties as assigned
