About The Position

The Assistant, Brand Strategy will play a crucial role in the success of Macy’s campaigns and communications efforts. In this role, you’ll help shape how Macy’s shows up in culture by supporting the development and execution of marketing campaigns. You’ll work closely with the Brand Strategy team to gather insights, monitor trends, and contribute to creative briefs that guide the work. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, motivated, and culturally fluent and who is excited to learn, contribute, and grow within a high-performing Brand Strategy team.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing or a related field (or relevant internship experience).
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior and a passion for building brand messaging and strategies.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, including comfort using emerging technologies and AI tools to enhance insight generation and workflow efficiency
  • Demonstrated curiosity about culture, retail, fashion, or consumer behavior
  • Ability to connect dots between trends, business objectives, and creative work
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively while bringing informed perspectives and active engagement to team discussions.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, engaged, and eager to learn and grow
  • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply.
  • Proactively engaged in retail and cultural trends, with a strong desire to learn, contribute, and grow within a high-performing Brand Strategy team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with flexibility during key campaign and cultural moments.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the Brand Strategy team in developing campaign materials, including gathering necessary information and supporting the creation of marketing plans:
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize relevant data to support campaign strategy and creative briefs
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure timely delivery of all data need to inform creative briefs including customer insights, cultural and market trends, and fashion forecasts
  • Proactively monitor retail, fashion, and cultural moments to identify opportunities for relevance
  • Contribute to postmortem process to capture key successes and opportunities for future campaigns
  • Help to manage internal schedules and meetings to ensure projects are on time
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional and agency partners to ensure strategy is informed, connected, and actionable
  • Help foster a positive and collaborative environment where all teams work together effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
