About The Position

The Brand Specialist for our Phoebe Philo space is a highly engaged seller responsible for cultivating and elevating the Phoebe Philo business within Dover Street Market New York. This individual acts as the in-store authority and dedicated ambassador for the brand, bringing a deep understanding of its aesthetic, product, and client to every interaction. Their primary focus is to maximize sales while building and maintaining long-term, high-value client relationships. As the face of Phoebe Philo within DSMNY, they lead by example—delivering a highly personalized, elevated service experience that reflects the brand’s identity and standards. The Brand Specialist serves as a key resource to both clients and the wider store team, driving product knowledge, clienteling, and brand storytelling. They take ownership of the performance of the space, proactively identifying opportunities to grow the business through client outreach, styling, and in-store engagement. Luxury products are their specialty, and they provide seamless support to clients across all shopping needs. In partnership with store leadership, they build community, strengthen brand presence, and drive both goodwill and commercial results. They are the ultimate representative of Phoebe Philo within DSMNY.

Requirements

  • Retail sales and expertise within a luxury business for at least 5 years
  • Specific understanding of the Phoebe Philo aesthetic and client.
  • Previous experience in selling high-end designer brands required.
  • Client book of potential new business for the space as well as bringing existing clientele
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs which may include day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality is required.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently provides a high-touch, personal experience; strong and consistent follow up to ensure satisfaction and offer additional service to
  • Delivers a personalized styling and shopping experience with a strong focus on Phoebe Philo, acting as a true brand ambassador and ensuring all client interactions to reflect the brand’s identity and standards.
  • Services all shopping needs: personal wardrobe and gifting.
  • Anticipates needs and proactively reaches out to remind the client of occasions and holidays and to suggest items.
  • Highly knowledgeable about alteration and fit.
  • Maintains deep and current knowledge of Phoebe Philo collections, product and availability, confidently translating this into sales and client engagement
  • Provides clients with premium access to products.
  • Utilizes all tools to secure product for the customer: special orders, pre-orders; can easily sell merchandise not within their four walls.
  • Takes ownership of building and developing a high-value client book, with a focus on Phoebe Philo clients and prospects, driving repeat business and long-term loyalty.
  • Proactively seeks out product knowledge and has the confidence to sell luxury products.
  • Develops a luxury client interested in attending events, with a focus on brand activations opportunities.
  • Works closely with merchandising and leadership to ensure the Phoebe Philo space is within the brand guidelines, with strong awareness of stock, client demand and business opportunities.
  • Serves as the sales team leader, sharing skills, selling initiatives as well as helping onboard and train new sales team members.
  • Acts as a key in-store resource for Phoebe Philo, supporting ongoing training and elevating brand awareness across the wider DSM team.
