About The Position

The role of the Brand Protection Intern is an integral member of the Brand Protection team adding value through assisting with anti-counterfeiting efforts, product authentication, global investigations, customs recordals, legal document execution, training materials, and much more. This unique opportunity will give you a glimpse of global enforcement efforts for an over 100-year-old brand. The intersection of sports and lifestyle with investigations and enforcement is meant for an individual who finds fun in the chase and the product.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn and adopt new systems
  • Experience conducting efficient open-source investigations through social media, open-source databases, public business records, etc.
  • Ability to draft effective and concise investigative reports
  • General knowledge of sports, logos, and schedules of their seasons/tent pole events
  • Comfortable collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate professionally via phone, email, and in-person
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to respond quickly to changing circumstances
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to enhance existing processes and solutions
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and positive, with a track record of managing change with persistence and urgency
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program within intelligence studies, political science, criminal justice, legal studies or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Learn about anti-counterfeiting enforcement efforts for a global headwear and apparel brand
  • Participate in internal and external trainings
  • Investigate third-party marketplace listings for the potential unauthorized sale of genuine products
  • Collaborate with strategic league and retail partners to monitor unauthorized online/grey market activity on third-party marketplaces
  • Identify patterns amongst counterfeit sellers and suggest impactful enforcement opportunities on relevant platforms
  • Review, identify, and analyze trends of counterfeiting activities globally
  • Conduct internet research using OSINT to acquire more information on relevant targets
  • Support invoicing, Power of Attorney execution, and other administrative legal efforts for global partners
  • Organize samples of genuine and counterfeit samples received from investigations for proper evidence documentation
  • Update training materials to be used by global partners at law enforcement trainings
  • Assist with entering new cases, updating current cases, and evaluating old cases for new enforcement strategies
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other projects as assigned
