This business is part of the Global Coffee Alliance, formed in 2018 between Nestle and Starbucks. In this role, you will partner with Nestle and Starbucks teams around the globe to define how Starbucks Foodservice comes to life, creating strategy, programs, and products to support both business growth and brand elevation. As brand manager I, you will own global beverage and menu strategy. As business needs flex, you will also contribute to other global workstreams, including foodservice strategy, partnership governance, brand guidelines, and compliance tools. Requirements

  • Progressive experience in brand or product management: 5-7 years
  • Experience leading brand, innovation, or business development strategies - business to business or partnership context helpful
  • Partnership or relationship management experience, including establishing new governance processes, navigating conflict, and finding win/win solutions
  • Passion for Human Centered Design (HCD) or other problem solving, innovation, or process design methodologies
  • Strong decision-making skills, including ability to synthesize inputs from cross-functional stakeholders and drive action in support of recommendations
  • Persuasive communication skills to drive influence and action with partnership stakeholders or leadership audiences
  • Experience leading projects and cross functional teams, especially in global or matrix organizations

Responsibilities

  • Champion coffee, craft, and beverage quality: Set operational guidelines related to beverage and equipment execution. Drawing from Starbucks deep expertise, advocate for coffee education and beverage operations training. Contribute to compliance programs that track in-cup quality.
  • Lead menu strategy and innovation: Define how, when, and why we adapt coffeehouse beverages for execution in foodservice channels. Prioritize opportunities, considering brand and strategic fit, commercial opportunity, and operational feasibility. Lead innovation projects in partnership with Nestle and Starbucks R&D teams.
  • Define menu and innovation processes: Contribute to a shared understanding of our current business and ensure that the path from idea to execution is clear for all stakeholders. Create tools to document approvals and standards. For innovation, clarify roles and responsibilities for brand, R&D, and sourcing teams from both Starbucks and Nestle.
  • Tackle foodservice strategy questions, including those related to beverage supply and execution: Create frameworks to guide decision making, considering brand, partnership, financial, legal, and supply chain lens. Drive action against your recommendations.
  • Globalize impact: Collaborate with regional Starbucks teams, flexing across cultures and time zones to facilitate knowledge sharing. In partnership with Nestle, facilitate global governance forums and reporting to improve visibility, track program health, and drive growth initiatives.

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.
  • For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
