About The Position

Creatives know. They can tell the difference between something that's good and something that's trying too hard, and then they make up their minds: Do I feel compelled to use this? Will this actually help me? Does this match the high bar I hold myself and my team/brand to? This is why the brand design at FLORA is critical, and why it won’t be easy. Our current and prospective customers are the most discerning around, which means every touchpoint, every launch, and every brand artifact has to sing. This is a small team, the product is real and used by serious creative professionals, and the work will actually be seen. If you want a role where brand and product are genuinely intertwined and the design actually matters to how the company grows, this is it. You’ll report directly to the VP of Marketing, and will collaborate closely with other designers, our Founder/CEO, and Product.

Requirements

  • A portfolio that demonstrates genuine range, with evidence of both conceptual sharpness and serious craft
  • Fluency in typography, composition, color, and visual hierarchy at a level where it's second nature
  • Experience and sharp instincts with motion design, 3D, and more complex animation
  • A solid eye for internet culture: you know what lands, what ages badly, and why
  • The ability to make complex ideas simple without making them stupid
  • Someone who has worked in agencies and in-house, and knows the difference between the two cultures in a way that makes them better at both
  • Strong opinions about what good looks like, and the communication skills to bring others along
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and what it means for creative work, not as a trend to reference but as something you're actively thinking through

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with generative AI tools (including FLORA) and the prompting instincts to get consistent, usable results
  • Experience designing for or within creative tools, developer products, or other technically sophisticated software

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with marketing and product design on the visual expression of FLORA across every surface that matters: product, social, campaigns, launches, and live events
  • Design the system that holds FLORA together and the individual pieces that make people feel something
  • Translate what FLORA actually does into visual language that makes it immediately legible and compelling
  • Create beautiful work in and with FLORA, and be a pro-level user of the FLORA canvas, how/when to work with FAUNA, and more
  • Build scalable brand systems without letting "scalable" become an excuse for boring
  • Move fast between strategic thinking and hands-on execution without losing altitude on either
  • Set the creative bar for external partners, collaborators, and the broader team
  • Define how we best represent new and existing product features in launches, long-form content, tutorials, and other high-visibility mediums
