About The Position

Lola Blankets is a fast-growing, design-driven brand creating the world’s most loved faux-fur blankets. With a devoted community, strong influencer presence, and rapid scale, we are redefining what comfort and style mean for the home. As we expand, we are looking for a Brand Design Director to lead and elevate our creative organization — ensuring every visual and storytelling touchpoint reflects the premium quality, warmth, and modern luxury that define Lola. The Brand Design Director will lead Lola Blankets’ creative execution and visual expression across all brand channels. This role oversees the full creative team — including graphic designers, Brand Producer, Creative Producer, and Video Creative Lead — ensuring cohesive, high-quality work that brings the brand vision to life at scale. Partnering closely with the Cofounder & Creative Director and Head of Brand Marketing, the Design Director translates brand strategy into clear creative direction, operational excellence, and elevated output across campaigns, product launches, and always-on brand storytelling. This role combines creative leadership, team management, and executional oversight. The ideal candidate is both a strong creative thinker and an organizational leader who can build systems, mentor talent, and scale creative output without compromising quality.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of experience in creative leadership, design direction, or brand leadership roles.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary creative teams.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems, campaigns, and integrated creative work.
  • Deep understanding of visual storytelling, design systems, photography, and video production.
  • Experience leading photo and video productions from concept through post-production.
  • Proven ability to mentor creatives and build high-performing teams.
  • Highly organized with strong project prioritization skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and modern creative workflow tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve Lola’s visual identity across digital, retail, packaging, campaigns, social, and video.
  • Translate brand vision into clear creative direction and scalable design systems.
  • Lead campaign concept development from ideation through execution.
  • Ensure consistency across typography, color, photography, motion, and overall brand aesthetic.
  • Maintain and evolve brand standards as Lola grows.
  • Lead and manage the creative organization, including: Graphic Designers Brand Producer Creative Producer Video Creative Lead
  • Provide clear direction, feedback, and mentorship to elevate individual and team performance.
  • Establish creative workflows, prioritization frameworks, and production processes.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing creative culture rooted in craftsmanship and accountability.
  • Partner with leadership on team structure, hiring, and freelance resourcing.
  • Oversee creative execution across design, photo, video, and campaign production.
  • Ensure projects move efficiently from concept through delivery.
  • Guide production planning alongside producers to balance ambition, timelines, and budgets.
  • Review and approve creative work prior to stakeholder presentations and launches.
  • Maintain quality control across all outputs.
  • Partner closely with Performance Marketing, Operations, and Product teams.
  • Align creative direction with business goals while protecting brand equity.
  • Support performance marketing with elevated creative that drives conversion while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Collaborate with copy and marketing partners to ensure cohesive storytelling.
  • Continuously raise Lola’s creative standard and cultural relevance.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate across content, storytelling, and brand expression.
  • Build scalable systems that allow creative output to grow alongside the business.
  • Champion design thinking across the organization.
