About The Position

Sunbrella, a brand of Glen Raven, Inc. is recruiting for a Sunbrella Brand Ambassador. This field-based role will represent our flagship Sunbrella® brand and build constructive relationships with partners in an assigned territory. This individual will identify existing and prospective retail and end-user-focused partners for Sunbrella fabrics and products, including furniture stores, design studios, marine & shade fabricators, and others, and educate them on the breadth of offering and benefits of using Sunbrella fabrics and selling “Sunbrella products”. Their overall objective is to encourage partners’ increased use of Sunbrella fabrics in products they sell or specify (such as sofas, chairs, window treatments, awnings, bimini tops, etc.) and/or sell Sunbrella-branded finished products (such as throws and cleaning solutions). Through regular interactions, these individuals will ensure retail and other partner associates understand the benefits of Sunbrella®, have the materials they need to sell on our behalf, and feel supported by the broader Sunbrella team. They also will serve as ‘eyes and ears’ in the market and identify competitive threats and growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field or equivalent education and related training
  • Up to 2 years in field sales or similar role

Responsibilities

  • Represent Sunbrella® brand to current and potential partners in assigned territory. Partners could include a variety of business types, including furniture stores (outdoor/patio and indoor), design studios, marine fabricators, awning shops, and others that influence end-user purchases in relevant categories.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Sunbrella brand, products and offerings.
  • Meet regularly with current and potential new partners and develop ongoing relationships. Educate associates and advocate for increased Sunbrella use and/or recommendations.
  • Improve & increase the presence of Sunbrella at partner locations, including POP materials, influencing product placements, etc. Ensure locations have up-to-date Sunbrella selling materials, such as sample tools, brochures, signage, etc.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and educate audiences at trade shows, customer locations, and other events.
  • Resolve customer complaints and opportunities by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management.
  • Develop call reports and other reports as requested by their manager.
  • Understand the competition and provide summarized insights and recommendations to the broader Sunbrella team.
  • Requires driving to partner sites and other locations for meetings and events, and frequent overnight stays (anticipated at least 50%) to maximize number of meetings per day/week.
