About The Position

The role of the Branch Specialist will be primarily responsible for the overall operation of the teller department as well as providing support to other branch staff, including MSRs and the Branch Manager, as needed. Our Branch Specialist functions as a teller or MSR on an as-needed basis filling in for peak coverage or shortages. They perform duties related to loan processing, certificates of deposit, IRAs, opening and closing accounts, loan closings and disbursements, etc., and serve as a subject matter expert for all branch transactions, policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate must understand credit union operations and must have a heart for service and a positive attitude! They should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team. Meeting deadlines and attention to detail are critical pieces of this position. Requirements

  • A high school education or GED.
  • 3 years of similar or related experience to include branch operations and a combination of experience in lending, deposits, and teller duties.
  • Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and member service skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of established teller procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Branch Manager with the operations of the branch in their absence or the absence of the Assistant Branch Manager.
  • Monitoring, ordering, dispensing, shipping, and balancing all cash for the branch.
  • Promoting branch business development and seeking to broaden the member base.
  • Monitoring the work of tellers and MSRs to ensure the highest level of quality service to members.
  • Organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives.
  • Providing guidance and training to new employees.
