About The Position

The Branch Service Supervisor (BSS Sr) supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Teller line for one or more bank branches. This role manages Teller schedules to ensure continuous coverage and adherence to established schedules, while ensuring compliance with bank policies, procedures, regulations, and operational guidelines. The BSS Sr works closely with branch management to communicate key information regarding changes to bank policies, procedures, products, and services. Additionally, this position leads the teller line in cross-selling, referrals, and new business efforts in support of branch referral goals. In Nexus/Novus branches, the BSS Sr does not directly supervise Tellers but provides operational oversight and collaborates with the Retail Market Manager on team leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of Teller experience; OR one year of Teller experience and successful completion of the BSS Development program; OR one year of experience as a Teller Supervisor or Branch Manager with Teller duties; OR two years of supervisory experience that includes one year of Teller experience; OR a Bachelor's degree and one year of Teller experience.
  • Knowledge of bank branch operational functions, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding of bank compliance rules and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong listening skills and positive communication abilities.
  • Account reconciliation skills.
  • Attention to detail with ability to manage time and multi-task.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Teller line for one or more bank branches.
  • Prepares, publishes, and coordinates staffing and scheduling to ensure proper Teller and branch coverage.
  • Serves as a resource for tellers, providing guidance and assisting with complex transactions.
  • Assists Tellers in greeting customers and providing outstanding, personalized customer service.
  • Executes customer transactions in accordance with policies and procedures with high accuracy.
  • Handles customer inquiries and provides issue resolution, escalating issues to branch management as needed.
  • Promotes the bank's products and services, driving referral performance on the Teller line.
  • Participates in daily kick-off and huddle activities, weekly sales meetings, and training activities.
  • Maintains established levels of cash in the vault and manages cash transactions.
  • Serves as the Teller Insight Branch Administrator.
  • Oversees the quarterly Branch Management Operations checklist.
  • Ensures compliance with branch security policies and procedures.
  • Monitors customer satisfaction surveys and addresses service concerns.
  • Models Synovus' culture and values in interactions with team members and customers.
  • Manages coaching, development, and performance of team members.
  • Engages with the Regional Operations Manager regarding operational policy changes.
  • Maintains professionalism in appearance, punctuality, and behavior.
  • Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for team members.
  • Observes and reports known or suspected violations of policies and regulations.
