Role: Provide leadership and develop a team spirit among branch personnel in the branches in Orleans and Jefferson Parish, and instill pride and value in the branch network. The Branch Operations Manager’s primary focus is on directing the daily operations of the branches and coaching personnel in the achievement of all sales and service goals.

  • Directs, develops, motivates, hires, and disciplines branch personnel; administers performance evaluations and recommends appropriate personnel actions.
  • Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and ensures that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
  • Willingly assists all departments as requested and performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Monitors all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the maintenance, replenishment, and balancing of the ATMs at all locations.
  • Cash Management – Ensures all locations have sufficient cash on hand to properly operate.
  • Ensures that sales productivity is maximized while maintaining smooth and efficient branch operations. Provides excellent member service to current and potential members.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding new ideas and procedural changes, and takes action in areas to promote more efficient operations, increase staff motivation, and achieve business growth. Approve necessary and logical exceptions to policy and procedure.
  • Prepares and submits all required weekly and monthly security reports, checklists, compliance reports, and general ledger reconciliation, ensuring the branch adheres to established guidelines.
  • Performs or oversees daily branch opening and closing procedures.
  • Exhibits financial responsibility in the monitoring of income and expense levels and contributes to the profitability of the branches.
  • Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, and USA PATRIOT Act, including accurate completion of CTR and Monetary Instrument Log, Customer Identification Program, customer due diligence, identifying high-risk accounts, and reporting suspicious activities to the Compliance Department.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide service to members.
  • Ability to solve problems while working directly with external and/or internal members.
  • Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete work accurately.
  • Proficient in basic office skills/equipment, including computer, email, ten-key calculator, copier, scanner/fax, typing, telephone, organization systems, Microsoft Office products, input data, and counting money.
  • Ability to think logically to analyze situations, resolve problems, and make sound decisions.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy, which may involve motivating or influencing others.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to listen, develop/suggest solutions to problems, and retain confidential information
  • Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
