About The Position

The Branch Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of bank branches, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing customer service. This role involves resolving customer issues, promoting banking products, and maintaining operational soundness under the direction of the Branch Manager. The position also includes responsibilities such as managing branch currency, performing teller cash counts, and assisting with staff scheduling.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Demonstrated successful experience as a Teller; Internal Candidates: 12-18 months (Required).
  • Demonstrated successful experience in branch banking or a related operations/support function; External Candidates: 3+ years (Required).
  • Broad knowledge of Company policies and procedures, services, and products.
  • Extensive knowledge of branch operations and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent cash-handling skills and the ability to maintain and balance a cash drawer.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated to succeed in a goal-driven environment with the desire to motivate and coach others.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to interact with varying customers and effectively handle difficult customer conversations.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Portuguese language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve customer issues and generate new referral business and accounts.
  • Promote banking products to new and existing clients.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and federal and state regulations.
  • Participate in community affairs to enhance the company's visibility and discover new business opportunities.
  • Maintain operational soundness of the assigned branch under the direction of the Branch Manager.
  • Function as the Vault and/or ATM Custodian, including balancing and maintaining audit logs.
  • Complete branch currency ordering and maintain negotiable inventory.
  • Perform sporadic teller cash counts and assist with staff scheduling.
  • Provide a variety of transactions for customers and seek opportunities to develop customer relationships.
  • Research and resolve account problems in partnership with the Branch Manager.
  • Observe end-to-end teller transactions and coach team members to improve customer experience.
  • Document changes made to branch policy and communicate them to team members.
