About The Position

The Branch Operations Intern is responsible for assisting with the processing of all incoming mail transactions in both a timely and accurate manner. In addition, the Intern is responsible for assisting with the processing of all incoming returned mail received via the USPS in a timely and accurate manner. The Intern is also responsible for assisting with the regular performing of quality control on all consumer deposit documentation in both an accurate and timely manner, ensuring staff adhere to established institutional procedures and all applicable laws. Moreover, the Intern is responsible for creating new and reviewing and revising, if necessary, existing operational reports and forms. The Intern may complete a wide range of operational tasks, including processing service events, answering phone calls, and responding to emails. The Intern will maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude while exhibiting a passion for helping others.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be 18 years of age
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale (must provide transcripts)
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
  • Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors working toward a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
  • Ability to work part-time or full-time hours for the summer (25-40 hours/week, generally 8am-5pm Monday-Friday)
  • Able to commit to the full internship of 10 weeks (weekends may be required)

Responsibilities

  • Process all mail transactions in an accurate manner, discovering and correcting errors promptly.
  • Process all mail transactions in a timely manner.
  • Process all returned mail received via the USPS in a timely and accurate manner, following up with members at established intervals if necessary.
  • Perform quality control on all documentation for consumer deposit accounts, excluding tax-advantaged accounts, in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all such items are completed in accordance with current institutional guidelines and applicable laws.
  • Notify staff of errors on all documentation for consumer deposit accounts, excluding tax-advantaged accounts, in a timely and accurate manner, following up with personnel and management at established intervals based on the classification of the error.
  • Respond to and resolve staff member inquiries regarding errors on all deposit documentation for consumer accounts, excluding tax-advantaged accounts, in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Create new and review and revise existing operational reports and forms.
  • Provide timely, accurate, professional, and confidential administrative support to staff members, assisting with all aspects of branch and deposit operations.
  • Respond to and resolve member inquiries in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of branch operations by completing Deposit Regulation and Product and Service Certification courses.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
